Morocco will host the 28th edition of the World Schools Football Championship in 2023. The announcement was made during the general assembly of the International School Sport Federation, on the sidelines of the Gymnasiades in Normandy (France).

This is the first time that this competition will be played in an African country. This event should help promote and develop school sport on the continent. It’s in this perspective that the ISF and Sport en Commun signed a partnership agreement several months ago. With the attribution of one of its flagship competitions to Morocco, the ISF confirms its will to make its competitions more accessible to African countries. 18 African nations are currently participating in the Gymnasiades, the equivalent of the School Olympic Games, in Normandy, France.

Morocco will not lack experience in organising events of this level, as it will host the African Women’s Cup of Nations from 2 to 23 July 2022.
