Effective, inclusive partnerships are needed between governments, the private sector and civil society if all the Sustainable Development Goals are to be achieved. These partnerships, which are built upon principles and values, and upon a shared vision and shared goals, must be applied at the global, regional, national and local levels.

How can sport address this issue ?

Sport’s popularity and global reach, its universal and attractive nature, and its connection with young people are all characteristics that position it at the heart of partnership strategies to promote sustainable development.

Sport can establish and strengthen multi-stakeholder partnerships and networks to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure the implementation of a development agenda by involving and bringing together governments, local communities, donors, NGOs, sports organisations, civil society and the private sector.
