ENGIE Foundation funding

Overview

Founded in 1992, the ENGIE Foundation’s main areas of commitment are children and young people in need, access to energy for all, and biodiversity. 
Its support for children and young people in need comprises initiatives that promote the social inclusion of young people through culture, education, health and sport.
Every year, the Foundation provides financial and human resources for a selection of projects based on open applications. Since its creation, the ENGIE Foundation has supported almost 1,000 projects in 25 countries.

Eligibility criteria

• Must be a civil society organisation
• Must carry out a project that promotes the social inclusion of children and young people, access to energy for sustainable development, or be linked to emergency relief
• Must not be for special event projects such as festivals, galas, exhibitions, concerts and conferences
• Must not be for a non-associative or individual project
• Must not be for a project that falls under the remit of ENGIE’s Agir Pour l’Emploi (Action for Employment) Foundation
• Must not be for an editorial project or a project with a promotional purpose

Examples of projects supported

• Construction of a multisport pitch in Rwanda (2018):
  In support of the association Africa City Stade, a multisport pitch for eight sports disciplines (including handball, basketball, football and tennis) was built. This durable, modern pitch allows thousands of children to play sport safely in a school environment.
• Solidarity with Nguikh Fall in Senegal (2018):
  In support of the association Action Prévention Sport, which uses sport as a catalyst for social reintegration, the project helps with training and supporting vulnerable young people back into work in the village of Nguikh Fall.
