Inclusion Through Sport: CONFEJES Launches Its Major 2026 "Adapted Sport" Call for Projects

The General Secretariat of CONFEJES is making a powerful move this season by officially launching the 5th edition of its Call for Projects dedicated to "Adapted Sport." Offering grants of up to 2.5 million FCFA per initiative, the pan-African and French-speaking institution aims to sustainably transform the daily lives of people living with disabilities through sports.
Dakar, Senegal – Historically committed to youth development since its inception in 1969, the Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Francophonie (CONFEJES) is reaffirming its vision for a fully inclusive sports ecosystem. Through its PE/Sport Program, the institution is deploying a new roadmap to push the boundaries of social inclusion and economic development across the French-speaking community.
A Major Financial Boost for Local Grassroots Organizations
For this 2026 edition, the call specifically targets local associations, NGOs, and sports federations based in CONFEJES geographical zones B, C, D, and E. The stakes are high: selected projects will benefit from direct financial support ranging between 1,000,000 FCFA and 2,500,000 FCFA.
However, candidates must follow strict financial guidelines: CONFEJES will cover a maximum of 90% of the overall budget. Applicant organizations are required to secure co-funding for the remaining 10% minimum. Furthermore, to guarantee a direct impact on the ground, pure operational overheads and unexpected expenses are strictly excluded from the funding scheme.
The Watchword: Synergy and Field Impact
The ultimate goal of this call for projects goes beyond organizing one-off events; it is about building sustainable bridges. To meet eligibility requirements, proposals must showcase a hybrid partnership combining at least one public authority (local or regional) and one private actor (club, federation, or local association).
Projects must primarily focus on:
- Developing tailored and inclusive sports activities.
- Running awareness campaigns to shift societal perspectives on disability.
- Creating innovative tools to ensure the long-term practice of inclusive sports.
Rigorous Selection and a Tight Timeline
Applicant organizations have until September 30, 2026, inclusive, to submit their complete application files via email to the official institution address.
To successfully pass the screening process conducted by the experts of the Technical Analysis and Selection Committee (CTAS), criteria are stringent: organizations must have been operational for more than 2 years, propose a project with a maximum duration of 4 months, and belong to a member state that is fully up to date with its CONFEJES contributions.
Beyond the financial grant, the laureates will gain unique institutional visibility and direct technical backing from National Sports Coordinators to turn their initiatives into lasting successes.
