The Model Sports Village, launched by IMT Ghaziabad with its pilot project in Kheri Viran, aims to transform rural communities by integrating sports into daily life. The initiative fosters social unity, personal development, and talent discovery, with a focus on children’s sporting potential. By recognizing sports as a tool for human resource development and community building, it promotes health, inclusivity, and discipline. The success in Muzaffarnagar, where athletes gained state-level recognition, showcases sports' potential for rural development and breaking down societal barriers, especially for girls. The project involves collaboration among educational institutions, NGOs, and government bodies, ensuring sport is embedded in the social, cultural, and educational fabric. Moving forward, the initiative seeks sustainability and scalability, aiming to replicate its success across India. With continued support, the Model Sports Village can empower rural communities and foster future generations through sports.
