The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) partnered with KPMG and La Trobe University to investigate the value of community sport infrastructure in Australia, focusing on its economic, social, and health benefits. While the general benefits of sport and physical activity are well-known, this study uniquely examines the specific value generated by community sport infrastructure. Community sport infrastructure is defined as local, regional, or state-level facilities primarily designed for community sports activities. The study also considers activities within these facilities, such as sports participation, volunteering, and community events, but excludes benefits from activities outside these infrastructures.
