Definition of a project manager
An organisation that uses or wishes to use sport as a tool for development in Africa through the implementation and management of impact projects: local public institutions, civil society organisations (including associations, NGOs and foundations), sports federations and organisations (such as clubs, academies and leagues), private sector companies, elite athletes, etc. Click here to find out about the platform services and features available for project managers.
Registering on the platform
Do you want to join our community and benefit from all the services and features of the Sport en Commun (Sport in Common) platform?
To do so, you must first create an account by clicking on the green icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can access the registration form by clicking the Sign up button at the bottom of the screen.
You must first select the project manager status and then select your organisation from the drop-down list. If your organisation does not appear in the drop-down list, select “My organisation is not listed” and then complete the information requested.
This information enables us to ensure your organisation is correctly listed on the Sport en Commun platform. Please complete this information in as much detail as possible, so that we can better identify the profile, actions, expectations and needs of your organisation.
In order to complete your file and allow us to better identify your needs and expectations, we recommend that you upload a presentation of your organisation and/or a recent annual report (PDF format; attachments must not exceed 5 Mb).
Before submitting your registration form, please double-check the information you have provided and then tick the following boxes:
– I hereby certify that I have read the Sport en Commun Ethics Charter and I will respect the platform’s terms of use.
– I hereby certify that the information provided in this form is accurate.
Lastly, click the Register button.
Please note that our team reviews each registration request before it is approved within 72 hours. If case of incomplete or erroneous information, our team will contact you to help ensure that your registration is approved.
You will receive an e-mail confirming that your registration request has been received and a second e-mail when your registration has been approved by our teams.
Organisations already listed on Sport en Commun
Several members of the same organisation can register on the Sport en Commun platform using the organisation’s account. The person initiating the registration request will automatically be given administrator status for that organisation’s account on the platform.
Once the registration is approved and the organisation is listed on Sport en Commun, other members can also register under this account by selecting the organisation concerned from the drop-down list on the registration form.
If there are any doubts about whether a member belongs to an organisation, our team will contact the account administrator of the organisation concerned before approving the registration.
Elite (professional) athletes
If you are an elite (professional) athlete who has not yet set up an organisation, tick the corresponding box (“I am an elite athlete”).
If gou are an elite (international) athlete who has already created an organisation, but it does not appear in the drop-down list, select “My organisation is not listed” but without ticking the box “I am an elite athlete”.
Listing a project
Once you have created your user account, you can submit your sport and development projects using the “Submit a project” form available through your account.
You must specify the nature of your project, describe it succinctly and indicate whether you are seeking funding or support.
If you are seeking funding for your project, you must specify your project’s budget, the amount sought and any co-funding that may be available.
If you are seeking support for your project, you must indicate the nature of the service you are looking for (training, incubation, fundraising, impact evaluation and assessment, etc.).
In both cases, you must upload a detailed description of your project and a financial business plan so that our teams can identify the most appropriate solutions. Attachments must not exceed 5 Mb.

Participating in a call for projects
Sport en Commun lists the various current and forthcoming calls for projects on sport and development. You can view the list in the Solutions section of our website and via your account dashboard.
Once you have found a call for projects that corresponds to your needs, there are two ways in which you can submit an application:
If the call for project is managed by our teams: you can submit an application directly through your account by completing the relevant call for projects form (click the Participate in the call for projects button). Please note that attachments must not exceed 5 Mb.
If the call for projects is not managed by our teams: you will be redirected to the relevant website where you can find out more or submit your application. If you would like advice on how to optimise the chances of your project being selected for the call for projects in question, log into your account and contact us through our messaging service in order to benefit from our personalised services.
Learning about sport for development

Publishing a funding solution
Do you want to raise the profile of your funding solutions and publish them on the Sport en Commun platform? Log into your account and contact our team through our messaging service.
Our team will create a specific page for your funding solution containing the following key information: general description, theme/Sustainable Development Goals targeted, type of project sought, eligible countries/geographical coverage, award amount, selection methods, eligibility criteria, etc.
As soon as you have approved it, the page will be visible to all platform users. Project managers wishing to apply will be redirected to your website for more information or to apply for the proposed funding solution.
Management of a call for projects
Sport en Commun can manage your call for projects for you.
To benefit from this service, log into your account and contact our team through our messaging service.
Our team will promote your call for projects on the Sport en Commun platform among its different members and on its social networks.
We will also collect and analyse the applications received and send you a full set of recommendations on the relevant projects to be selected.

If you wish to support or fund sport and development projects, visit the Projects section, where you will find all the projects listed on the Sport en Commun platform.
Through your account dashboard, you can also access a personalised database of projects that might interest you, taking into account your criteria and preferences in terms of the SDGs, countries and sports targeted.
Please note that all the projects listed on the Sport en Commun platform have been analysed in depth by our team prior to publication.
