Inaugurated on 28 October, the Alassane Ouattara Ivorian-Korean Sports, Culture and ICT Centre promotes taekwondo and the training of young people in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Côte d'Ivoire

This week, Côte d’Ivoire inaugurated a brand new sports and cultural complex in Abidjan. The Alassane Ouattara centre, which was built in partnership with South Korea, includes a 1400-seat indoor facility and a cultural centre with a multi-purpose hall, a library and a multimedia room.

Located in the town of Adjamé in Abidjan, this infrastructure will allow the Ivorian Federation of Taekwondo, in particular, to benefit from high-level equipment and to promote, improve and develop the practice of taekwondo. Judo and team sports such as basketball, handball and volleyball will also be practiced in the facility.

National and international competitions can be organised there. This centre will enable Côte d’Ivoire to host meetings of international taekwondo bodies as well as training sessions for young people in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), and courses.

The Alassane Ouattara center refleets the ambition of Côte d’Ivoire to bet on sport and to play a role in the emergence of the sport market on the continent.
