Sarah Hanffou speaker at the Finance in Common Summit 2022 in Abidjan
For the first time since its creation, the Finance in Common summit, initiated by AFD in 2020, will be held on the African continent on 19 and 20 October.
Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) will host the third edition of this international event, co-organised by the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, bringing together Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, bringing together Public Development Banks to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the initiative of the Sustainable Development through Sport Coalition, our Sport Impact Leader Sarah Hanffou will have the opportunity to present her organisation “Ping Sans Frontières” and the different initiatives deployed in recent years, such as the “Ping and Education” project in Ghana, laureate of the “Impact 2024 International” call for projects organised by AFD and Paris 2024.
The table tennis player will also tell us how, thanks to her brand Tako by PSF, she has entered the sports equipment market with her ping pong tables manufactured on the African continent.
“The Public Development Banks can play a decisive role in the face of the challenges of a green and fair transition for a sustainable recovery. So can the sports sector. It even offers innovative solutions with a strong social impact. It is therefore crucial to integrate entrepreneurs and the sports sector in such a reflection and especially for the implementation of concrete actions”, explains Sarah.
In partnership with the Ivorian Table Tennis Federation, a table tennis tournament will allow delegates to test the tables made by Tako by PSF in Côte d’Ivoire. A final will be organised at the end of the tournament against the champion.
Sarah Hanffou’s presence and testimony are intended to raise awareness among public development banks on the issue of mobilising development finance for sustainable sport.
