Empowering young girls through sport
Context
According to the World Bank (2021), the participation rate of women in the workforce in Morocco remains low despite a higher GDP per capita, a lower fertility rate and better access to education. Women are less likely to get a decent job and become independant.
Yet women’s participation in the labour market not only supports economic growth but also increases household investment in education and health.
Goals
- Using sport as a lever for the development and emancipation of young girls
- Developing girls’ leadership skills, self-confidence and ability to work as part of a team
- Helping young girls to get a job through training in job-seeking techniques
