Morocco Preschool Olympics
Context
The education provided by preschool structures promotes equity and equal opportunities concerning access to education. Despite universal access to primary education, in 2017, only 50 % of children aged between 4 and 5 were in pre-elementary structures in Morocco (World Bank, 2019). Because of the importance of pre-school education, the Ministry of National Education, the Professional Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a national programme for the generalisation and development of pre-school education in Morocco.
In fitting with the vision of the government, the “Morocco Preschool Olympics” initiative tends to disseminate the practice of a sporting activity by targeting the children between 3 and 5. The project aims at ensuring sharing of the TIBU Maroc expertise as concerns education programmes through sport. Morocco Preschool Olympics inspires and encourages pre-schools to include customised physical activity as a regular part of their curriculum. The project’s purpose is to produce a qualitative programme for the children and a transformational one for the adults so as to register them as an essential component to the national effort associated with the generalisation of pre-school education in Morocco by 2028.
