Youth education through sports
Context
In Cameroon, the conditions of young girls and boys living in orphanages are increasingly delicate. These young people, who come from poor families, are at high risk of not attending school or attending school in such conditions that it is difficult for them to thrive (weight of stigma, poverty, caring for a sick parent). Second, they are at risk of living in a home where food security is severely reduced (risk of malnutrition and malnutrition because the costs of the disease reduce the household’s food resources). Third, they are at risk of suffering from anxiety and depression (increased responsibility for young girls, pain associated with parental illness, loss, discrimination, separation from siblings in the event of death of parents, etc.).
In the face of this situation, which has worsened with the Covid-19 pandemic, the association is committed to supporting these young people through the use of sport and its values. Each year, activities bringing together training centres of rugby academies, schools and orphanages are initiated for the development of young people. Despite the difficulties, the association is committed to providing orphaned and vulnerable children with physiological, physical and moral assistance through the practice of rugby.
Ultimately, the association has the prospect of creating a sports complex called «CAMBERABERO complex» that can integrate children of different sexes according to their talent, some of which will be selected and will be able to claim to integrate centres in Europe.
